Why muumuu?
In the 1960's, when I was VERY young, my father used to travel a lot, by ship, and
returning from his long trips overseas, would always gather us around to show and tell us 
about  the experiences on some distant shore that we
could only imagine. Inevitably there was some new item to reveal and enliven the
tale. Living in New Zealand, it was probably not that difficult to surprise us.
One time it was a pet tortoise!
Amongst the paraphernaleia, strong in my
memory, are the muumuu's for my sister and I....bright, bold
fabrics, mine of underwater colours... torquoise, blues and greens ...and my
sister's, reds yellows and hibiscus brilliant colours... following a trip back 
 passing by French Polynesia. We loved them!
